Asia Calling

By Erika

Genesis 12:1
The Lord had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you."

I'm thinking to blog a series of verses
pertaining to my calling.
Genesis 12:1 is what I believe God used to call me to Asia last Summer.
This verse from the first book of the Bible remains a theme consistently throughout the rest of the Old Testament and into the New, as we can see from the Great Commission when Jesus tells us to go and make disciples of all nations.
If anyone has more Biblical examples of "going," people, stories, etc.,... post 'em!!

Well sis others who have left their homeland in the bible would be Ruth, Joseph, Paul, and most importantly Jesus left his homeland in heaven then left Nazareth to preach all over the lands.

ahhh! my post wasn't finished. in follow up of the bilical examples I'd like to note an overlooked leaving of the home to start a new minstry...marriage. If newylweds can remember that God put them together and minister well to each other, there is nothing they can't do for others in the name of God as a couple united in Christ.

Something to say?
